Permanent and Temporary Recruitment
A combination of database search, specialist journal advertising, networking and recommendation enables PI-Select to submit a shortlist of pre-screened potential candidates for the client's review. Professional Information can also organise the subsequent interview programme, and can act on the client's behalf to take up references, negotiate the package and agree a start date.
The approach taken by Professional Information involves working in close partnership with its clients. This begins with an in-depth discussion on the assignment to ensure accurate focus of the subsequent search on client expectations in terms of candidate competencies, experience and cultural fit. This briefing also ensures that PI-Select has sufficient corporate information to be in a position to respond efficiently to questions from prospective candidates.
An immediate outcome of this briefing is that PI-Select submits a draft assignment specification and candidate role profile to the client for approval. Following approval, PI-Select commences the search and selection process with a view to submitting a shortlist of potential candidates (with CVs and supporting documentation) to the client within approximately ten working days. As the search progresses, PI-Select ensures that the client is kept fully informed on progress.
Based on the client's response to the shortlist, first and subsequent interviews are arranged. PI-Select does not normally participate in these interviews although the Company will take responsibility for the administrative arrangements. As appropriate, a job offer is issued to the successful candidate following the interview programme, and feedback is provided to all candidates by PI-Select.
Contract Medical Information Personnel
The use of contract personnel is a common practice within the Medical Information environment. It provides a rapid, straightforward solution to:
- Managing workloads without an increase in permanent headcount.
- Managing the peaks and troughs commonly seen with new product launches and staff shortages.
- Responding to sudden, unexpected shortfalls in staffing.
Whilst contract staff are not usually the most cost effective option in terms of long term strategy, they certainly provide a flexible and fast solution. PI-Select will provide its own staff to fulfil requirements for contract personnel whenever possible. In addition, it is possible to draw upon the PI-Select database of freelance contract personnel. This database is constantly being added to and updated to reflect each individual's changing circumstances, making it more likely that PI-Select will be able to accurately match the client's needs in terms of required skills and experience.
